Carmel Valley Community Youth Center Update
By Sally Snyder
Excitement abounds at the Carmel Valley Community Center! Due to
grant donations and the incredible support of the community, we are
able to start our pool-house remodel at the end of this swim season.
Marj Ingram has designed a plan that is both functional and recalls
our ranching heritage. The new pool-house will truly be a proud
accomplishment for us all.
The following foundations and groups have graced us with their generosity
and chosen us as grant recipients: The Harden Foundation, AT&T
Pebble Beach Charities, Carmel Valley Kiwanis, Community Foundation,
Monterey Peninsula Volunteer Services, Carmel Valley Woman's Club
and the Vandervort Family Annual Charity Carmel Valley Horseshoe
Tournament.
The Carmel Valley Community Center Board of Directors wishes to
thank all the above for their generous support and would also like
to thank all of the people in the community who have made donations.
Due to space constraints we are unable to list all of the names of
those that have contributed. When you visit the park, have a barbecue
or go for a swim, know that a collective effort from local foundations
and Carmel Valley residents makes this all possible. Please recognize
that every dollar enables the CVCC to continue to improve a center
that serves the community.
The CVCC Board meets on the last Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m.
in the Activity House and the public is welcome to attend. If you
would like to volunteer some of your time or resources, contact the
center at 659-3983.
There will be a Groundbreaking Ceremony on September 8th from 12
– 3 p.m. at the Community Center Park and we hope to see you there.
